Temple Square Lights

I Haven't seen the Temple Square Christmas Lights in a bout 3 years so the boy's, my mom and Siblings and myself all decided to venture out and see them! haha... we did see them and they were very pretty but ugh, next year it will either be a date night thing or wait a couple years until the kids grow up! Lyndon LOVES Christmas lights but he also falls asleep every time he gets into the car which means when we got to the lights he was not happy! It took me about 5 minutes to calm him down before we could start walking and he was crabby at every person that looked at him wrong. The baby was great as usual and stayed awake the whole time. I really do love the lights and the Holiday's are just not the same without them so I guess sharing this experience with the boy's and my family will just always be an event to remember.

Sleigh Ride

A couple weeks before Christmas my family decided to go to a Bountiful City Christmas Festival. It wasn't very big but they had tons of free stuff, and the kids were able to see Santa and go on a Sleigh Ride. Lyndon loved being in the wagon and even though the line was FOREVER long he waited pretty patiently for his turn and had a great time!

My Mom, Mckinley and Brooks
Lyndon was no sure waht to think of the Horse.

Bausten was just too excited :)

Lyndon loved the sleigh ride! ( and the candy cane from Santa, which is what's all over his face!)

Bausten started clapping tonight!!!
I was playing eith him while I was getting dressed and I clapped his hands and then he started too!! We practieced for a while and now when you say Bausten clap he get's really excited and starts clapping! SOO FUN!

Lyndon's Prayer

Lyndon decided to say his prayer tonight all by himself without any help from me. It was so cute, I can't believe how smart he is and I am so thankful that even at such a young age he is slowly learning the steps of the gospel that are going to be so important in his life.

He said...
Thank you for Mommy and Daddy, Thank you for brother, Thank you for Church and blessings,Thank you for Nana and Papa, Thank you for Brooks and McKinley, Thank you for our house, Thank you for corn, Thank you for peach(x3:) ) Thank you for apples, Thank you for aunt Melanie, RyRy, Thank you for Grandma, Thank you for Grandpa, and Pops and Nana and Sissy, Thank you for Santa, Thank you for my candy,Thank you for Daddy, Amen.

It really just melted me, Lyndon really is such a sweet heart and even though I smirked a little when he said he was thankful for corn and peaches I am glad that even comes to mind:)

THANKSGIVING

My Father-in-law emailed the Family this story he had been given and I hope he does not mind but I just had to share!! My life this past year has been far from what I expected and I have been given some extremely hard trials to go through. In fact while reading this I could not stop my tears from falling because the pain sounds so familiar to me but also the comfort of knowing our Heavenly Father loves us so much and I really need to realize how many blessings I have! As tomorrow is Thanksgiving I cannot help to really stop and take a minute to think of my endless blessing I have and how grateful I am for everything good and hard in my life. I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life without it I would be so lost. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family that surrounds me, listens, comforts and makes me feel so loved. And I am especially grateful for my two boys who with the simplest hug or smile help make me feel so happy and loved ,they are the reason I get up everyday. I Love spending time with them and watching them grow and I truly feel honored and blessed to be there mother! Hopefully, this story will touch you as it has me- although life can seem unbearable at times I am so Thankful to know I have a Father in Heaven that knows each and everyone of us personally and wants the best for all of us and will lead and direct our lives for good and wonderful things if we just let him into our lives. Happy Thanksgiving!!

"Thankful For The Thorns"
Sandra felt as low as the heels of her crocks when she pulled open the florist shop door, against a November gust of wind. Her life had been as sweet as a spring breeze and then, in the fourth month of her second pregnancy, a "minor" automobile accident stole her joy. This was Thanksgiving week and the time she should have delivered their infant son. She grieved over their loss. Troubles had multiplied. Her husband's company "threatened" to transfer his job to a new location. Her sister had called to say that she could not come for her long awaited holiday visit. What's worse, Sandra's friend suggested that Sandra's grief was a God-given path to maturity that would allow her to empathize with others who suffer. "She has no idea what I'm feeling," thought Sandra with a shudder. "Thanksgiving? Thankful for what?" she wondered. "For a careless driver whose truck was hardly scratched when he rear-ended her? For an airbag that saved her life, but took her child's?" "Good afternoon, can I help you?" Sandra was startled by the approach of the shop clerk. "I... I need an arrangement," stammered Sandra. "For Thanksgiving? Do you want the beautiful, but ordinary, or would you like to challenge the day with a customer favorite I call the 'Thanksgiving Special'? I'm convinced that flowers tell stories," she continued. "Are you looking for something that conveys 'gratitude' this Thanksgiving?" "Not exactly!" Sandra blurted out. "In the last five months, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong." Sandra regretted her outburst, and was surprised when the clerk said, "I have the perfect arrangement for you." Then the bell on the door rang, and the clerk greeted the new customer, "Hi, Barbara... let me get your order." She excused herself and walked back to a small workroom, then quickly reappeared, carrying an arrangement of greenery, bows, and what appeared to be long-stemmed, thorny roses - except the ends of the rose stems were neatly snipped. There were no flowers. "Do you want these in a box?" asked the clerk. Sandra watched for the customer's response. Was this a joke? Who would want rose stems with no flowers! She waited for laughter, but neither woman laughed. "Yes, please," Barbara replied with an appreciative smile. "You'd think after three years of getting the special, I wouldn't be so moved by its significance, but I can feel it right here, all over again.", she said, as she gently tapped her chest. Sandra stammered, "Uh, that lady just left with, uh... she left with no flowers!" "That's right," said the clerk. "I cut off the flowers. That's the 'Special'. I call it the Thanksgiving Thorns Bouquet." "Oh, come on! You can't tell me someone is willing to pay for that!" exclaimed Sandra. "Barbara came into the shop three years ago, feeling much as you do, today," explained the clerk. "She thought she had very little to be thankful for. She had just lost her father to cancer; the family business was failing; her son had gotten into drugs; and she was facing major surgery." "That same year, I had lost my husband," continued the clerk. "For the first time in my life, I had to spend the holidays alone. I had no children, no husband, no family nearby, and too much debt to allow any travel." "So what did you do?" asked Sandra. "I learned to be thankful for thorns," answered the clerk quietly. "I've always thanked God for the good things in my life and I NEVER questioned Him why those GOOD things happened to me. But when the bad stuff hit, I cried out, "WHY? WHY Me?" It took time for me to learn that the dark times are important to our faith! I have always enjoyed the 'flowers' of my life, but it took the thorns to show me the beauty of God's comfort! You know, the Bible says that God comforts us when we're afflicted, and from His consolation we learn to comfort others." Sandra sucked in her breath, as she thought about the thought that her friend had tried to tell her. "I guess the truth is, I don't want comfort. I've lost a baby and I'm angry with God." Just then someone else walked in the shop. "Hey, Phil!" the clerk greeted the balding, rotund man. "My wife sent me in to get our usual Thanksgiving arrangement... twelve thorny, long-stemmed stems!" laughed Phil as the clerk handed him a tissue wrapped arrangement from the refrigerator. "Those are for your wife?" asked Sandra incredulously. "Do you mind telling me why she wants a bouquet that looks like that?" "No... I'm glad you asked," Phil replied. "Four years ago, my wife and I nearly divorced. After forty years, we were in a real mess, but with the Lord's grace and guidance, we trudged through problem after problem. The Lord rescued our marriage. Jenny, here (the clerk) told me she kept a vase of rose stems to remind her of what she had learned from "thorny" times. That was good enough for me. I took home some of those stems. My wife and I decided to label each one for a specific "problem" and give thanks for what that problem taught us." As Phil paid the clerk, he said to Sandra, "I highly recommend the Special!" "I don't know if I can be thankful for the thorns in my life." Sandra said to the clerk. "It's all too... fresh." "Well," the clerk replied carefully, "my experience has shown me that the thorns make the roses more precious. We treasure God's providential care more during trouble than at any other time. Remember that it was a crown of thorns that Jesus wore so we might know His love. Don't resent the thorns." Tears rolled down Sandra's cheeks. For the first time since the accident, she loosened her grip on her resentment. "I'll take those twelve long-stemmed thorns, please," she managed to choke out. "I hoped you would," said the clerk gently. "I'll have them ready in a minute." "Thank you. What do I owe you?" "Nothing. Nothing but a promise to allow God to heal your heart. The first year's arrangement is always on me." The clerk smiled and handed a card to Sandra. "I'll attach this card to your arrangement, but maybe you would like to read it first." It read: My God, I have never thanked You for my thorns. I have thanked You a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear; teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to You along the path of pain. Show me that, through my tears, the colors of Your rainbow look much more brilliant." Praise Him for the roses; thank Him for the thorns. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Author Unknown

Pumpkin Patch!

A Couple of weeks ago my Mom and I took the boys and my little brother to a pumpkin patch. They had so much fun! There was a corn maze and a Haystack maze for all the kids to run through, of course Lyndon had to rebel and climb ON the Haystacks but we caught him before he knocked everything down! We then went through and the Boy's picked out a pumpkin for themselves, Lyndon picked one out for Bausten:) We had a great time and it really put us in the Fall mood!

Fun with the Pickup's!

This past weekend the boys and I spent some time up North to see Ty's family! Lyndon loves having fun up there! We went to a park and had a great lunch! It was the perfect day to be outside and enjoy the last of part of the summer! We also went with Ryan and Mel and the girls to the park where we were planning on feeding the ducks:) As you can see the kids did a lot of throwing the bread but maybe one or two ducks actually ate anything! Apparently a ton of bird seed had just been layed out by the park to feed all of the birds so they were stuffed:)Oh well, we had a great time anyway. Lyndon LOVES playing on the playground equipment especially the swings! It was great just to get out and relax and enjoy the family! Thanks for a great Weekend you guys!!!

We love our Cousins!

Lyndon's favorite thing to do at the park!

My Boys

I have been trying to put all our new fun pictures on this week but for some reason I can not get my computer to cooperate!!! So I guess you get an update with out them for now:)

Lyndon will be 2 in 3 weeks and the terrible two's are in full force at our house! He no longer likes to bath, brush his teeth, comb his hair or sit in his booster chair! One day he was fine with everything and the next day he refused:) He also has stared he "Why? " phase... today

mommy can I play with wiggles downstairs...
No
Why Momma?

Mommy can I have toys in the tub
Not tonight
Why?

You get the picture, this happened all day long,It makes me laugh every time!!
Lyndon is so smart he recites whole books and has memorized a few songs last night he sang Edelweiss to Bausten all by himself. He defiantly can be a handful but he also be very loving and kind hearted.Lyndon loves his family every night when I say I love you he says "Daddy loves me and Nana loves me and Papa loves me and Brooksie loves me and Grandpa Dave and Grandma Jill and Aunt Melanie and Kinley,Uncle Ryry, Chase, Jordan, Ashton , Tanner He knows everyone loves him and I am so glad! Lyndon also loves trains and Buzz and Woody and squishing any type of bugs! He is defiantly a boy! Who occasionally gets dressed up in princess clothes by his cousins and HATES getting dirty:) We love Lyndon and all the fun things that come along with him!

Bausten will be 3 months tomorrow and I can hardly believe it! SOO much has happened this pasty summer since he's been born that the time just flew by. Bausten is defiantly the easiest baby I have ever seen. He is so content and happy and has the biggest and brightest smile! He loves to babble to us and especially loves his big brother paying attention to him. He drools like crazy but, we love him anyway:) It's been especially nice that after I have had a full day of taking care of Lynodn and him Bausten now sleeps through the night from 8:30-about 4:30or 5 Bausten is asleep and I can really feel rested for the next day!

I am so blessed top have these two little guys, they truly are such a blessing in my life and I am so grateful that I am their mother! Through everything that goes on on our lives, they are with me every morning with their wide eyes and cute little giggles and smiles and I enjoy every minute of that!

Bumbo

I LOVE our Bumbo we bought on KSL classifieds for half the price and it is great! About a month ago we started putting Bausten in it and as you can see he has really starting to get some chub on him:) I love that even when I have to put Bausten down so I can un after Lyndon I feel like he is working his muscles and not getting a flat head(something I am super paranoid about!). Lyndon can also play with abusten when he is in his bumbo, he will sit next to him and play pat-a-cake and shake Bausten's toysfor him. I don't think Bausten minds a bit when I put him in there the other day and ran to get off, I came back to one sweet baby fast asleep! I felt kind of bad but after some snugglig and kisses Bausen took a nap and I he was just fine:) I really don't know what people did before the Bumbo, I really think it's what helpes Lyndon sit up so early and Bausten will be right behind him!

Can you say Mischief

One Happy guy!
