FHE

Last night for FHE we talked about gratitude. My little brother was in charge of bringing a story and he found this poem. It made me really stop and think, life for Ty and I has been pretty stressful for us so far this year but we really do have so, so, so much to be grateful for each and everyday!!

I Am Thankful For...
The partner who hogs the covers every night, because he is not out with someone else.
The child who is not cleaning his room, but is watching TV, becasue that means he is at home and not on the streets.
For the taxes I pay, because that means I'm employed.
For the mess to clean up after a party, because it means I have been surrounded by friends.
For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.
For my shadow that watches me work, because that means I am in the sunshine.
For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing, because that means I have a home.
For all the complaints I hear about the government, because it means we have freedom of speech.
For the parking spot I find at the far end of the lot, because it means I am capable of walking and I have I have been blessed with a car.
For my huge heating bill, because I am warm.
For the lady behind me in church who sings off-key, becasue that means I can hear.
For the pile of laundry and ironing, for it means I have clothes to wear.
For the weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, for it means I have been capable of working hard.
For the alarm that goes off in the early morning, becasue it means I am alive.
And finally, for too much e-mail, becasue it means I have friends who are thinking of me.
