Jaundice

This week we have been making a lot of visits to the Doctor's for Bausten. When we left the hospital he was a little jaundice and so we made an appointment for Monday to check his levels. He jumped from a 9 to an 18.4 in 3 days! At his age a level 20 means admitting him to the hospital, so needless to say I was pretty worried. Our Dr. set up a company to bring us a Bili light bed where Bausten pretty much lived in. It was miserable for all of us, he was only allowed to be out of it during feedings and bath's, which made me so sad I hated having him in there but, luckily he didn't seem to mind at all! We have been going to the Dr.'s everyday to have his levels tested the first day it went from 18.4 to 15 which was great! So Yesterday we were able to turn the lights off and today his level is 13.8 so we are lights free!!!! We are so grateful that he is getting better, Bausten is now finally gaining weight ( a whole ounce a day!!) and he is a nice pink color. We are so glad that our little guy is on his way to being completely healthy again!!
