Fun at the Park

A couple of months ago my mom and I took all the kids to the park. It was Bausten's first time swinging and he had a blast!! He just kept kicking his feet as hard as he could and giggling:) It's also nice that Lyndon is a bit older so I don't worry about him getting hurt so much on the Playground equipment, he loves to run around and be a boy :) Overall, we had a pretty good time!

He told me that he was a cowboy! I sure do love my little man, he is continually making me smile!

Bausten turned one!!

My baby is officially one year old now. I have been trying to post pictures of his birthday on the Blog for a while now but, it just hasn't seem to be working for me. Hopefully, we can get some on soon:)
Bausten, is such a good baby, the lord new I couldn't handle anymore and he set such a sweet little guy to me! He is defiantly a blessing in our lives and I am so thankful he is part of our family.This first year has been well, a completely new experience in our family but, I have enjoyed having both of my boy's so much.I couldn't have done it without their smiling faces!!I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up and he is constantly changing!!
Bausten, is 20.6 pounds (20%) and 29.5 inches tall(50%) so mini man (Pickup sides nickname for him)suits him very well! Bausten seemed to stay a baby for a long time in fact right around christmas when I started he was getting a little behind he started to flourish. He took his first step right around turning 11 months and now he is practically running with the gang:) He can go up stairs but, it scares me to death because he can't quit figure out how to go down yet and we have had a couple tumbles, but he is tough! In fact he is not my snuggler he loves a kiss and a hug when he get's hurt and then he wants down back to be on the go. He started finally, wanting "big people food" but, he refuses to let anyone feed him so every meal is pretty much one huge mess. He take s a Binki and a Bottle which Lyndon never had so I am in the process of trying to figure out how we are supposed to get rid of those. I am not in a huge hurry though I am sure when he is ready( before Kindergarten of course;) ) that they both will be gone!
Bausten is starting to say a few words like " mama", " uh-oh" especially after the 10th time he has dropped his sippy cup and " Hi" he loves playing with my phone and putting it up to his ear to call Daddy.He also points to everything and just mumbles all sorts of sounds like we know exactly what he is saying. It's so fun to see him wave night-night when he is tired and he get's a huge grin on his face and starts running to anyone who comes and visits.
At his birthday party,Bausten loved playing with his balloons and when I took them away he was so sad:( We replaced them with a ball and he has had so much fun with that. Bausten also loves his big brother, they are so cute together. Lyndon is constantly trying ot hold Bausten to read him stories which usually turns into a wrestling match and he loves picking him up and bringing him to me, Yikes!! I am so glad they have each other and I know they will be best friends as they grow older! Bausten is a sweetheart and I can already tell how kind and loving he is he is defiantly in tune with other people's feeling but, for now it comes out with every time Lyndon starts crying Bausten starts faking it and it's absolutely hilarious!!! He is such a cheese ball, he can even crack himself up especially playing peek-a-boo his favorite game:)
I am excited for this next year and all the new adventures he will take us on!! We love you Bausten!!!

Bausten's Ear tubes

So we missed PCMC so much that we decided to go back :) No, on Tuesday Bausten went in and had tubes put in his ears. He has had 5 double Ear infections in the past six months and this last one he was on 3 different antibiotics including Recephren (sp?) shots one in each leg for three day's and he still after all that had fluid in his ear's ! So after meeting with the ENT and getting a hearing test which showed less than perfect hearing because of all the fluid we decided on tubes.
I took him in right and early Tuesday morning which meant he was pretty unhappy. He was not allowed to have any food after midnight and only apple juice or water till five but, when I woke him up he refused to drink a bottle because he was so sleepy so by the time his surgery started at 7:15 i had one hungry baby:(
He was a trooper though, once he saw the toy's he was fine. I started getting a little nervous but I am thankful for such a great Doctor and Nurses who reassured me he was going to be fine. The hardest part was that unlike Lyndon who had some med's that helped him relax before surgery Bausten was too little so when I was supposed to had him to the Anastegiologist I thought he was going to cry. Nope, he put out his arms and went right too him. I was so glad. The procedure only too 12 minutes and then I was ale to see my baby again. A little droggy and confused but we just snuggled and he was good to go :) I am so thankful that everything went smoothly and for Dr's who have helped my little guy feel a lot better!! Bausten is doing great walking everywhere and other than a little more needed cuddling during the day which I don't mind and probably due to the 2 molars coming in and his cold, He is one happy baby and I love him so much!!

Yesterday, we took Lyndon to PCMC to get his Adenoid's taken out. Lyndon has gotten pretty used to going to the Doctor's and all he wanted to know was if he could have a sticker:) ( he got a Toy Story one!) He had to fast from midnight on which I was really worried about because the first thing out of his mouth every morning is "can I have cereal" today however, he didn't ask which was a blessing. He was able to have apple juice until eight which kept him occupied and the fact that Daddy was coming with him, he just kept begging to get his shoes on so he could go with him. When we wer ready all packed up with books and coloring books ready for a long day of waiting, but we were wrong.
Once we were at the hospital everything went so fast, he wasn't going to having surgery until 11 but they were running early so we were registered, changed into his cute little hospital clothes and waiting in the pre-op room before we knew it. By this point I was getting a little nervous about giving my baby over to the doctor's and hoping he was going to be okay and that this was the right decision. Lyndon was so calm and happy having fun playing with all the toy's that I kept my cool:) Because, Lyndon freaks out when he is not with either Tyler or myself we opted for the ..ugh, children's valum I think is what they referred to it as. He was hooked up to a Pulse/OX monitor and we waited. Slowly we could see the effects of the medicine, Tyler asked Lyndon who he was and Lyndon just kept staring at his name tag and smiling, I know we are terrible parent's but it made us giggle a little to see him just smiling ear to ear staring at nothing:)
The surgery was SUPER fast only 20 minutes and they said Lyndon did GREAT!! Other than trying to stand up and jump out of his crib right after he woke up and before we saw him:) I have never been so relieved to see my little boy , he barely cried and just slept in our lap's until we were released and where he was able to ride in a wagon out to the car.
Lyndon, is now doing amazingly well we were given a prescription for Lora tab which we threw away because Lyndon has barely needed Tylenol. We tried to get him to rest but he was not been having any of that:) Besides a slight fever this afternoon and him now staring to to complain his ear's hurt(normal)Lyndon is on resilient little man. We are so Thankful for that and can already see the effects of how much better he is sleeping now that he can actually breathe at night!

Lyndon was spoiled with new Pj's and bug's from Daddy and Mommy, a cute new puppy and balloons from Nana and Papa, and our Home teacher brought him a big box of Spiderman Popsicles and Ice cream:)

He was super happy, It think the Med's were still helping!

Lyndon's Sleep Study

Lyndon has ALWAY' S been terrible at sleeping and it has just gotten worse over the years. He has been waking up 3-6+ times a night with night terrors-just screaming, half awake tantrums that cannot be controlled, he also is constantly moving during the night, snoring and just plan grumpy all day because he is so exhausted! I took him into his pediatrician and she put him on a three week's of Sleeping medicine to re- balance his sleeping patterns. It worked so well he was just a joy to be around during the day's and I was getting my sleep as well. However, he can't be on that forever and there is a bigger reason she thought he could not sleep.
So last Saturday we finally were able to have a sleep study to see if he has Obstructive Sleep Apnea. As you can see it was NOT a pleasant experience, He was great letting the technician put on all his " stickers" but as soon as the tried to put on the oxygen which had two wire sensors that went in his nose he freaked out. Lyndon finally settled down after reading all his books we brought and turned on Barney:) He slept for one hour and then woke up completely beside himself, he started pulling things off and cried for almost 2 hours before he finally calmed down again. It was so hard to see my baby so upset and unhappy but, I knew this test needed to be done. It was a terribly long night but, we made it through!
Yesterday we received the results...Lyndon has Mild Obstructive Sleep Apnea. He woke up 77 times in the 5 hours he slept. He also held his breath for 34 seconds before he rolled over. When he sleeps on his back his oxygen level which should be around 92 was dipping down into the 80's and a normal Rem cycle number is close to 100 and his was 289. We have a followup appointment with his doctor on Monday to go over what all the number's mean. We will be meeting with a Ear's, Nose and Throat specialist soon to discuss getting Lyndon's tonsils taken out. Hopefully, when they are out he won't have them blocking his airway which will make him have a nice and peaceful sleep and happy day's :)
